Les Presses Universitaires du Septentrion

► About us

Created in 1971 under the name of Presses Universitaires de Lille, the Presses universitaires du Septentrion took its current name in 1995. The Presses universitaires du Septentrion is a non-profit organisation, governed by a board of directors made up of five universities in the Hauts-de-France region:
Université de Lille
Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale
Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France
Université Catholique de Lille
Université de Picardie Jules Verne

They valorise the results of the research by publishing them in books and in specialised journals. The books are published in paper and digital form; a large part of them is available on OpenEdition Books.

The PU du Septentrion is chaired by Régis Bordet, President of the University of Lille, and is co-directed by Stéphane Michonneau (Scientific Director) and Christèle Meulin (Executive Director).

► What books does the Presses universitaires du Septentrion publish?

The PU du Septentrion publishes high-level scientific works:

• Books based on the scientific seminars, which are edited under the authority of one or more editors who guarantee the quality of all the contributions and their thematic consistency.
• Monographs.
• Monographs from revised theses.

The fields covered by the PU du Septentrion in the humanities and social sciences, literature, languages and arts are defined by its five editorial committees.

The consortium of partner universities guarantees publishing autonomy as well as a plurality of themes covered by the many collections of the PU du Septentrion.

The PU du Septentrion is finally publishing a collection entitled "Savoirs mieux", the ambition of which is to take stock, in a small volume (350,000 characters), of a major contemporary problem that is being debated in our society.

► The Presses universitaires du Septentrion have a new executive director

Christèle Meulin has succeeded Nicolas Delargillière as Executive Director of PU du Septentrion, who has joined the University of Grenoble Press.

Christèle Meulin was in charge of communication and public relations at the Presidency of the University of Artois, before joining the Information Systems Department as deputy and head of the TICE pole, where she was in charge of changes and support for the integration of information and communication technologies related to teaching.

Project manager for "book strategy and digital publishing" at Artois Presses Université, with the task of moving towards an editorial strategy that includes digital publishing, Christèle Meulin held the position of editorial manager and joined the Presses Universitaires du Septentrion in April 2020.
