Purchasing a book in digital format is as easy as purchasing it in paper format. Once on the page of the book you would like to purchase, click on the « Buy » button next to the corresponding book. A window will then open, with all the informations about your future purchase. Click on the « Proceed to checkout » button: if you already have a PU du Septentrion account, you will be able to access your personal account, otherwise, you just have to set up a new account. Select the desired payment method. Once the payment has been made and validated by les Presses universitaires du Septentrion, you will receive an e-mail in which you will find a link to download your digital book directly from the Presses universitaires du Septentrion website.

You can read our ePub files on your computer with Adobe Digital Editions, on you iOS device (iPad, iPhone…) with iBooks, on your Android devices (eg: Samsung Galaxy Tab, Archos, HTC Windows Phone…) and with Mantano Reader.
• Our PDF files can be read on your computer with Adobe Reader and all the other aforementioned programs.

Les Presses universitaires du Septentrion will finalise agreements with distributors so as to give their readers access to digital books in the best possible way. Les Presses universitaires du Septentrion put their digital books for sale on their website www.septentrion.com without applying any DRM (Digital Rights Management) to prevent their readers from use restriction. This does not mean that books published by les Presses universitaires du Septentrion are copyrights free. Our books being submitted to copyrights, les Presses universitaires du Septentrion trust their readers to not diffuse their digital books on any, legal or illegal, information sharing platform. Copies made exclusively for private use are allowed for books in paper format.

What type of digital book do les Presses universitaires du Septentrion propose?

Our digital books are available in ePub 2 and PDF formats and can be purchased on our website (www.septentrion.com).Since 2013, ePub is the most widespread digital book format on tablets and e-readers, which is why we chose this format for our digital books.
Contrarily to the PDF format, which is the exact replica of the paper format - plus the interactive and colour functions (digital formats include coloured versions of illustrations), the ePub format is refowable and mashable/recomposable, which means that its formatting is not the same as the paper format.
The digital formats are complementary to the extracts (about 20%) of our books which are made available and readable online on our website and on some of our partners’ websites.
