The 290 ministers and secretaries of state who have had to deal with educational affairs are the subject of a detailed notice: their training course, their political activities before, during and after the ministry are examined, the publications of the Minister as well as the sources and a bibliography are indicated. The book includes a general introduction that presents a real socio-history of this ministry with a variable perimeter since it can include Fine Arts, Cults, Technical Education, sports, Higher Education. This book therefore highlights the origin and the career of the ministers, their political commitment. Beyond that, the book makes it possible to grasp the networks, the place of religion, the university studies followed... It thus makes it possible to better understand the functioning of the ministries of national education and higher education.
