This socio-historical work attempts to understand, for the first time, how educational sciences were implemented in a medium-sized university. It also offers an epistemological reflection: is it a discipline autonomous or a cross-section of disciplines? It is also a work of memory which is based on the testimonies of the first actors who contributed to the establishment of the discipline from 1974. However, we did not wish to make this work a simple book of memory or commemoration, but the book tries to understand how this university discipline has been organized and structured in a triple dimension (teaching through the UFR of human and social sciences, the IUM and continuing education, research in different laboratories, dissemination of knowledge thanks to the journal Carrefours de l'Éducation), by situating Amiens creation in the national and international context.
