<Text textformat="02" language="fre">&#60;p&#62;L'exploitation des figurines de terre cuite dans une perspective d&#8217;anthropologie sociale et culturelle renouvelle profondément un domaine de recherche longtemps resté à l&#8217;ombre d&#8217;une histoire de l&#8217;art surannée. Conformément à une tendance lourde de l&#8217;archéologie aujourd&#8217;hui, les contributions de ce volume privilégient une remise en contexte, dans tous les sens du terme et à plusieurs niveaux : archéologique &#8211; assemblages d&#8217;objets et répertoire ; cadre du sanctuaire, de la tombe et de la maison ; contexte culturel &#8211; pour montrer tout ce qu&#8217;une catégorie d&#8217;objets trop longtemps discréditée comme pacotille sans signification peut apporter, correctement interrogée, à la connaissance de la piété envers les divinités et les morts.&#60;br /&#62;
Une première partie commente quelques types particuliers de terres cuites figurées, tandis que les trois autres les envisagent successivement dans les principaux contextes d&#8217;utilisation : le sanctuaire, la tombe et la maison. L&#8217;ensemble fait apparaître la profonde cohérence de leur fonction dans les pratiques votives et funéraires et apporte des éléments pour caractériser les cultes domestiques. Ce qui se manifeste ainsi, ce sont des préoccupations fondamentales des sociétés traditionnelles : intégration des jeunes des deux sexes dans la famille et la société, mariage et enfantement. Cette forme d&#8217;archéologie cognitive, qui interroge le pourquoi de la présence muette des figurines et donc les intentions de leurs « utilisateurs », débouche sur une anthropologie des sociétés antiques.&#60;/p&#62;</Text>
