The recent period has been marked by a series of events and uses of memory that sometimes require democratic clarification and updating of thinking on the relationship with the past and the interactions between history and memory. Remembrance references are also increasingly asserted in contemporary societies in crisis. Based on reflections and case studies, this dossier aims to develop a series of examples of controversy or discussion of these issues relating to memory. It aims to promote a certain discernment in our relationship with the past, avoiding the pitfalls of relativism and manipulation.
