The heart of the book is a bibliography of over 1,000 items, classified by means of a detailed index, bearing on major research projects undertaken in France since 1945 in the areas of industrial sociology, labour relations, organisational behaviour, management and of theoretical contributions in these fields. This information is supplemented by a list of research institutes and an explanatory introduction which gives a brief history of modern French industrial studies and provides criteria for judging the utility of items.
