Les Presses Universitaires du Septentrion► About usCreated in 1971 under the name of Presses Universitaires de Lille, the Presses universitaires du Septentrion took its current name in 1995. The Presses universitaires du Septentrion is a non-profit organisation, governed by a board of directors made up of five universities in the Hauts-de-France region: They valorise the results of the research by publishing them in books and in specialised journals. The books are published in paper and digital form; a large part of them is available on OpenEdition Books. The PU du Septentrion is chaired by Régis Bordet, President of the University of Lille, and is co-directed by Stéphane Michonneau (Scientific Director) and Christèle Meulin (Executive Director). ► What books does the Presses universitaires du Septentrion publish?The PU du Septentrion publishes high-level scientific works: • Books based on the scientific seminars, which are edited under the authority of one or more editors who guarantee the quality of all the contributions and their thematic consistency. The fields covered by the PU du Septentrion in the humanities and social sciences, literature, languages and arts are defined by its five editorial committees. The consortium of partner universities guarantees publishing autonomy as well as a plurality of themes covered by the many collections of the PU du Septentrion. The PU du Septentrion is finally publishing a collection entitled "Savoirs mieux", the ambition of which is to take stock, in a small volume (350,000 characters), of a major contemporary problem that is being debated in our society. ► Presses universitaires du Septentrion have a new presidentOn Wednesday 24 January 2024, the General Meeting of the Presses universitaires du Septentrion unanimously elected Patrick Scauflaire President of the Presses universitaires du Septentrion association for a one-year term. An engineer by training, Patrick Scauflaire is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique (1984) and the Ecole des Mines de Paris (1986). He also holds a master's degree in theology and religious sciences from the Institut Catholique de Paris (2013) and an Executive MBA from HEC (2016). He began his career with the Solvay group in Belgium in 1986, then as a process engineer in Brazil in 1989. In 1995, he became Production Manager, a position he held until 2001. In that year, he joined BP Chimie, where he managed research and technology activities, becoming Director of Research and Technology for Europe. President-Rector of the Catholic University of Lille since September 2020, he has also been President of the UDESCA since 2021, which brings together the Catholic Universities and Institutes of Angers, Lille, Lyon, Paris and Toulouse, which have a student body of nearly 72,000. ► The Presses Universitaires du Septentrion have a new scientific directorArnaud Timbert succeeds Stéphane Michonneau as Scientific Director of Presses universitaires du Septentrion. He has been Professor of History of Medieval Art at the Université de Picardie Jules-Verne since 2017. He has also been Director of the TrAme Laboratory (UR 4284) since 2023, after having directed the UFR to which he is attached (2019-2023). He has taught as a visiting professor at the Universities of Laval in Quebec (2009-2010), Bucharest (2012), Kyoto (2010 and 2015) and Montreal (2023), and has been an associate professor at the Polito in Turin (Faculty of Architecture) since 2021. Keen to understand the material realities of building sites, he has authored or edited several works on construction materials and techniques (Vézelay abbey, Noyon and Chartres cathedrals) and restoration (Pierrefonds and Pupetières castles). He has also begun work on the historiography of architecture, publishing the general correspondence of Louis Grodecki (1910-1982) and a number of scientific itineraries: Être historien de l'architecture dans la France des XXe et XXIe s. Des Ego-histoires et des Vies. ► The Presses universitaires du Septentrion have a new executive directorChristèle Meulin has succeeded Nicolas Delargillière as Executive Director of PU du Septentrion, who has joined the University of Grenoble Press. Christèle Meulin was in charge of communication and public relations at the Presidency of the University of Artois, before joining the Information Systems Department as deputy and head of the TICE pole, where she was in charge of changes and support for the integration of information and communication technologies related to teaching. Project manager for "book strategy and digital publishing" at Artois Presses Université, with the task of moving towards an editorial strategy that includes digital publishing, Christèle Meulin held the position of editorial manager and joined the Presses Universitaires du Septentrion in April 2020. |
