In the light of her experience as a script supervisor, the author defines film continuity. This gives her analytical tools to study the aesthetics of stereoscopic 3D films as well as food for thoughts she put into practice while directing two stereo-3D films.

The stereoscopic illusion is, most of the time, associated with digital images. Such approach occludes its history: indeed, the stereoscopic illusion is the result of a century of research, that aim at wondering people by manipulating their senses thanks to the impression of « relief » stereoscopic images give them.

The first academic work to tackle the issue of French special effects, the diversity of approaches, authors, genres and periods covered makes this a unique resource of its kind and a complete and unpublished reference of analytical elements on the subject.
